We are excited to invite parents, caregivers, students, and community members to our first Youth and Family Engagement Team meeting on February 8th 2024, from 5:30pm-7:00pm at Vergennes Union Elementary School, 43 East Street, Vergennes!
This team is a space for families, caregivers, and community partners to join with Vergennes Elementary School students to work together to create a more inclusive school community. The team will engage in activities that explore topics such as community, belonging, shared values, and equity in our schools. Guided through a process called Youth Participatory Action Research (YPAR), which includes analyzing data and action planning, the team is a chance for families and community members to collaborate with students in thinking about what education can be in our schools.
Youth from the VUES Personal Power and Community Connections (P2C2) team will be co-facilitating activities and discussion with partners from the organization UP for Learning. There will be a light dinner. Childcare is available. This is a free event. Please RSVP at https://forms.gle/CVJYuumYydRbwQnDA.
