The Muses of Winterdeep ("Les Douze Sorcières D'hiver")
A Treewild outdoor sound and light experience, nine projections on an 80-foot screen, fourteen feet high, set in a circle in a grove of tall hemlocks at Shelburne Farms.
Exploring the wonder and wisdom of a deep winter night, where 12 muses are unafraid to address children's question of the shadows of the soul and embrace the lessons of the dark.
Lace up your boots, button your coat, and open your heart.
Performances : January 27, February 3, 4,10, 11
Follow the torches behind the Farm barn up Lone Tree Hill into the forest.
Illustrating the conversations are hundreds of powerful images blending into and out of the night with music performed by Malvenn, cello, clarinet and harp playing ancient French songs.
Although the dialogue focuses on the four children the narrative is literary and philosophical. We're sure some children will find this engaging, even though it is not specifically a children's event.
