Past event
Jan 27, 2024, 10:30 AM

The Vermont Genealogy Library will host two online classes on the next two Satrudays (27th & 3rd) at 10:30 AM. These lectures will help beginning researchers get off on the right foot and more experienced genealogists get their work back on track.

On Jan. 27th, Lynn Johnson will dicuss best practices for conducting sound research as she explains different types of records, their value, where to find them, and how to assess each piece of information.

On Feb. 3rd, Marcie Crocker will introduce the use of research logs, timelines, maps, and more. She'll also touch on the importance of a region's history and its languages, as well as when to invoke some advanced tools: DNA testing and researching family, associates, and neighbors.

If this weather has you down - these talks may pick up your spirits! The fee for each class is $10, they will include a detailed handout with forms to help your research, and be followed by a Question & Answer session will follow.

To register go to: https://www.vtgenlib.org/2024-spring-class-list/ and for questions, write to education@vtgenlib.org or call the library (802) 871-5647.
