Yesterday I posted concern about the lack of candidates for our local Town Meeting Election. Here is a link to the list of positions we will be voting on: https://lincolnvermont.org/vertical/sites/%7B53E9A1A8-33C4-4381-8550-24F9124297B8%7D/uploads[...]pdf
Here are details about how to get your name on the ballot:
1) Pick up a blank petition at the town office (you can do this 24/7), they are in an envelope outside the door of the building, above our drop box. These are also available on the Town of Lincoln website: https://lincolnvt.govoffice3.com/forms
2) Fill out the top part of the petition, to indicate which position you are running for.
3) Get 12 registered voters from Lincoln to sign your petition. This shouldn't take too long if you stand in front of the General Store in the morning, or just before closing.
4) Complete a "consent of candidate" form which is attached to the blank petitions outside the office door, or you can find one on our website.
5) Turn in both of these completed forms to me by the filing deadline of 5:00 p.m., Monday, Jan. 29, 2024. Please use our dropbox, if you come here when we are not open.
6) Reach out to me if you have questions.
Thank you Lincoln people. You are a wonderful community with a strong sense of social responsibility. It is an honor to be surrounded by folks who step up when there is a need. I have faith that you will come forth this week. Please help me to spread the word!
