Workshop Production of an Original Musical

Hi Neighbors,

I wanted to share some exciting news! There is a workshop production of an original musical, "Showing Up" happening at Middlebury College this Friday the 26th at 7:30 PM. It is a home-grown piece, written by myself and fellow Vermonter, Miranda Ferriss Jones. Middlebury's own Simon Broucke did the orchestrations.

Some of you may have seen the productions we did of "Showing Up" in 2019 and 2021 at Town Hall Theater, under Doug Anderson's direction. We're thrilled to be passing the baton to Middlebury College performers, Annabelle Iredale and Bri Beach.

Here's a little blurb about the show.

"Showing Up is a new musical about two Vermont girls who find they're bent on hitting the same trifecta: romance, family and a trophy-case-full of Tony awards. Oh, and they pledge to do it all side by side. Preferably in matching outfits.

But New York holds a few surprises for them, and apparently there's this thing called sexism? If they're going to survive, these two bighearted, blunder-prone besties will have to find new ways to show up for each other.

Showing Up is the battle cry that young women everywhere should hear - a message that their bodies are sacred, their stories need telling and that they define their own success. This two-woman musical comedy is a celebration of the female bonds that keep us anchored, keep us laughing, and keep us showing up.

We'd love to see you on Friday. There will be a talk back afterwards, if you care to stay and share your thoughts with us!
