Substantial Damage Informational Meeting

Past event
Jan 30, 2024, 5 to 6 PM

In December, approximately 90 residents received a letter from the City of Barre indicating that their property had been deemed tentatively Substantially Damaged. The City makes these determinations because we participate in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) and therefore have Flood Regulations that must be enforced in order to remain the program. Participation in this program makes flood insurance available to City residents at reasonable costs.

We recognize that learning of this designation was difficult for many residents and are committed to providing a setting to answer your questions as we all navigate recovery from the July 2023 flood. We invite residents that received this letter to a meeting to ask questions about the letter and the process. Details of the meeting are below:

DATE: Tuesday, January 30, 2024
TIME: 5:00PM to 6:00PM
LOCATION: Barre City Hall (6 North Main Street, Barre, VT 05641)

We look forward to seeing you at this meeting.
