Bike and Sewing Machine Collection for the Developing World, Saturday September 27, 9 am to 1 pm, Champlain Expo, 105 Pearl Street, Essex Junction

Got a bike or sewing machine that hasn’t been used in a while? You can make a life-changing impact by donating it to a self-help project in Central America, Africa, Eastern Europe or Southeast Asia. The Green Mountain Returned Peace Corps Volunteers are collecting used bikes and sewing machines on Saturday, September 27th from 9 am to 1 pm at the Champlain Expo in Essex Junction. The group requests a $10 donation per item to help with overseas shipping. You’ll get a receipt for your entire tax deductible contribution.

Your old bike will provide someone with access to school or work; your sewing machine will provide dignified employment for someone struggling to put food on the table. Over the past 16 years, the Green Mountain Retuned Peace Corps Volunteers has sent more than more than 3,000 bikes and 50 sewing machines overseas.
