Guilford Cares is pleased to announce that we will be responding to numerous requests for a beginning Fall Prevention Tai Chi class.
When: Thursday mornings, 11:30 to 12:15 beginning February 1
Where: Broad Brook Community Center, 3940 Guilford Center Road, Guilford
Instructor: Leah Gessner, certified Fall Prevention Tai Chi Instructor
No charge. Donations are welcome.
**Note: The two ongoing tai chi classes will continue as usual on Wednesday mornings at the Guilford Community Church and Thursday morning Broad Brook Community Center.**
This new Thursday class will be starting from scratch; a great opportunity for total beginners or those who would like to build on previous experience with this fall prevention practice.
What exactly is tai chi?
Tai chi is an exercise system combining disciplined, graceful movements with an invigorating sense of the body, mind, and surrounding space. Although the movements are slow, they contain great power. We try to coordinate hand and foot movements, breathing naturally, moving with slow continuous flow. By doing so, we improve strength, balance and posture.
All are welcome to come and try the class, beginning Thursday, February 1, at 11:30 at Broad Brook Community Center. No registration required.
