Saturday's Sun Catcher class was able to proceed in spite of the bad weather, and the crafters that couldn't get to the Hall were certainly missed! The rest of us enjoyed an afternoon of design, playing with color and patterns to create one of a kind sun catchers. Carma donated the glass panels, Mary finished them with soldered edges allowing the catchers to be hung, Tim donated the glue, and Wendy and Carol donated their collections of glass nuggets. Sweets were amazing, again, thanks to Carol's oatmeal fruit bars and Flo's brownies! Such generosity and effort allows us to continue week after week, and it is truly appreciated!
We were also able to put our new supplies to use with our new wireless glue guns, tweezers and Exacto knives, thanks to the Grant we received. Our future is as bright as our sun catchers on a sunny day. Life is good.
This Saturday's class of Iris Card Folding is full with a wait list, even after increasing our numbers to accommodate. Carol E is hosting the craft, and preparations are under way. Everyone is so looking forward to learning this beautiful technique.
January 27th craft has yet to be decided so will be listed on our site as a mystery craft. For those adventurous enough to sign up to be surprised, thank you.
Our Rug Hook class is a two day class on February 3rd and 17th, hosted by Pam Finnegan. Pam is generously donating her time, and the kits are $25 and should be paid in advance. Everyone will also need a 12" quilting hoop, and there are still a few that have been ordered and can be claimed for $15 if needed. Please contact me to arrange payment or inquiries. There are still a few spaces available.
All our other classes are posted on our website allowing for easy sign up. Our classes are for Roxbury residence ages 18+, and opened to our friends in neighboring towns the Wednesday before a given event. Other than the sewing class that requires simple knowledge of using a sewing machine, all our projects require no crafting knowledge at all, and we never judge. Crafting is our excuse to gather, to play, to enjoy the afternoon.
