The Town Tea is back. After a hiatus with pandemic, we are ready to gather at the Jericho Town Hall to celebrate community service. This is a multi-generational event, all ages are encouraged to attend.
This year we would like to honor Wayne Howe for his years of service on the Jericho Planning Commission and the Jericho Select Board. This is a drop in event. Hot coffee, tea and cocoa will be available.
If you wish, you can bring tea sandwiches or a finger food dessert to share.
This is a good time to find out what elected officers are on the Town/School Meeting ballot, and it is not too late to get your name on the ballot. The deadline for nominating petitions is Monday Jan 29th, 5pm
Candidates are encouraged to bring or start a petition at the Town Tea. You need 30 signatures from Jericho registered voters. There is no limit on the number of petitions a voter may sign. (There used to be a restriction that you could only sign the number of offices open but the election law was changed to allow voters to sign as many nominating petitions as they want.)
17 V.S.A. §2354 It is OK to sign more than one nominating petition.
