Participants are invited to come to the Bennington Free Library for this fun event for mechanically inclined kids ages 6-12. We will make and use marshmallow catapults, ping pong ball cannons, and straw airplanes. Community volunteer and airplane enthusiast Mike Rancourt will talk about his experience building planes. Participants will compare their machines' power, range, and accuracy.
The event is the first in a series of six free sessions featuring science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM). Each session will feature a story related to the topic of the day followed by hands-on activities. Participants will receive prizes for attending the highest number of sessions. Sponsored by the Bennington Free Library, the Bennington 4-H Foundation, and the Young Explorers 4-H Club.
