NVC (Compassionate Communication) Practice Group

Past event

Hello, peoples,
I have collected some interest and starting up a regular practice group. This Tue, Jan 16th, will be our first meeting! Yay!
I imagine we will get to know each other and review some NVC basics and make plans for next meeting.

We will meet in person in West Brattleboro, nearby fire station. Please email me at smile_spaces@pm.me for exact address and parking directions, and to RSVP.
I would like to suggest a donation of $10 if you are able to afford it.

I invite anyone new as well as experienced in it. Ideally, the whole world would join, as NVC is one easy tool to help express our truth in a way that is most likely to be heard and received, even when we or the recipient are hurting inside. Let us "give from the heart, out of joy that springs forth whenever we willingly enrich another person's life." (M.Rosenberg) - I am re-thinking John Lennon's "Imagine" as :
Imagine all the people

P.S.
For those new to NVC, there are many online resources. Here is my little blurb about it: NVC is a way of communicating that embraces curiosity and non-judgment, supporting clear, respectful and harmonious relationships - inter-personal, intra-personal, professional ones. For these reasons, it is frequently used to resolve conflicts. I personally have found it to be extremely useful in therapy as well. Through NVC, we create a connection with another person by relating to their feelings and the underlying needs, longings, values. When in disharmony or conflict, we learn to make non-judgmental non-evaluative observations and practice finding creative strategies to meet the needs of both parties. It's a tool for connection, really, and it's been a super effective one for me.
