Women I've Seen Before
A work-in-progress performance of a movement theater piece inspired by the writings of world-renown octogenarian playwright Caryl Churchill. Performed by local women of the Northeast Kingdom and nearby Canadian townships – nurses, farmers, school teachers –this piece explores how women of a certain age reflect on caring for each other while facing down mortality and a world in flames. Inspired by the fierce wit and spirit of Churchill's texts, incorporating movement and singing, the performance is the first of a Museum of Everyday Life series exploring the lived experience of everyday life with friends and neighbors in the NEK. Generously supported by the Highland Center of the Arts.
