NVDA Town Plan Regional Approval Hearing

Agenda

Before the opening of the public hearing, the NVDA Town Plan Regional Approval Committee will act to appoint a chairperson and secretary. The town plan shall be reviewed according to the format below, which should allow sufficient time for exchange of concerns, questions, and ideas.

Open the hearing and introductions

Purpose of the hearing:
NVDA staff will explain the purpose of town plan approval by the regional planning commission, according to 24 V.S.A. §4350

Town Plan Review Process

3a. Introduction of local representatives
At least one Hardwick representative to explain the following
Is the plan a minor or major update OR is it an entirely new plan?
If a major update, what has changed?
What was the motivating factor to update or write the plan?
What does the town hope to achieve by adopting a local plan? (e.g. amend zoning, apply for grants, influence Act 250 or Section 248 hearings)
How can NVDA help your community in the future?

3b. Question and comments to planning commission
Each NVDA committee member will have the opportunity to pose questions to the community.

3c. Planning Commission's questions/comments to committee

Close the public hearing

Following the close of the public hearing the committee will act to prepare its recommendation to the full board. This recommendation will be for either approval or disapproval of the Town Plan presented at this public hearing. The full board of NVDA will act on the committee's recommendation at its next meeting.
