The Greater Bennington Peace and Justice Center invites the community to join us for an evening of musical celebration of the life of Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 15, 2024, at the Bennington Theatre, 331 Main Street, Bennington beginning at 7 PM.
The evening will feature the African American group, Heavenly Echoes. This Albany based southern style rhythm and blues vocal group is backed by guitar, bass, and drums. Heavenly Echoes bring an authentic heart felt style of gospel, rhythm, and blues music - a musical style that added to the spiritual journey of Martin Luther King Jr. They have performed at numerous festivals, churches and cultural events throughout the Albany area including First Night Saratoga and the Saratoga Martin Luther King Festival.
The evening will also include our annual high school MLK graphic arts poster contest and a presentation by the local chapter of the NAACP and the Ethiopian Community Development Council.
There is no charge for admission. A freewill offering will be available to support community efforts to further the dream of Martin Luther King Jr.
