The Tunbridge Conservation Commission invites you to the first of three Winter Evening presentations in 2024, Backyard Habitat for Pollinators in Every Season, on Friday, January 12th, at 7 p.m. in the Tunbridge Public Library.
Desiree Narango, conservation scientist and research ecologist at the Vermont Center for Ecostudies, will share information about the variety of ways we can contribute to pollinator conservation through the management of our yards and gardens. Specifically, she will focus on actions that support the full annual cycle of insects - from foraging to breeding to overwintering - and share results from her work studying plant-animal interactions in New England and beyond. She'll also provide resources to help in plant selection, and explain how to get involved in VCE community science.
Winter Evenings are followed by light desserts and informal conversation. The two other presentations scheduled this year are Forests and Carbon on February 9th, and Bees Besieged on March 8th. Admission is free and open to all.
