A premier Central VT 4-piece bluegrass band, The VT Bluegrass Pioneers, featuring Banjo Dan Lindner (former leader of VT's premier 40-yr bluegrass band [1972-2012], Banjo Dan & the Mid-Nite Plowboys) on, of course, banjo but also guitar as well as vocals; Dan's brother, Willy Lindner (also a founder of the Mid-Nite Plowboys) on mandolin/vocals; Danny Coane (of The Starline Rhythm Boys and other well-known and remembered bands) on guitar, banjo and vocals and Sam Blagden, the Plowboys' bass player in the 1970's, on bass/vocals. Three of the Pioneers live right here in Montpelier-Barre. The band has been together for 8 some odd years and has one CD recording. This will be their first appearance at Hugo's Bar & Grill, upstairs at 44 Main St., Montpelier this Friday, January 5th from 7 /7:30 - 9/9:30.
