I am reaching out to you on behalf of Voices for Inclusion in Essex and Westford. We'd like to invite you to our upcoming screening of Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution, and ask for your help in spreading the word about this free community event. Crip Camp tells the story of Camp Jened, a summer camp for teenagers with disabilities that transformed young people's lives and ignited a landmark movement for disability justice.
Screening of Crip Camp: A Disability Revolution
January 22, 6:30 to 9pm
Essex High School
RSVP Here: voices4inclusion.org/events/crip-camp
This film is about the emotional experience of finding community (and finding yourself!) for the first time, and the power of realizing that a better life is possible through social change. The teens at "Crip Camp" found–and founded–their culture at Camp Jened, and we invite you to do the same. By screening this film for our neighbors in Essex, Essex Junction, and Westford, we hope to uplift the stories of people with disabilities and recognize the invaluable contributions they make to our shared community. We also wish to recognize the importance of disability advocacy and the value of creating spaces that genuinely include all of us.
Registration at voices4inclusion.org/events/crip-camp is strongly encouraged. Please help us spread the word about this free community event!
Should you require any accommodations, please be sure to contact us at info@voices4inclusion.org. Note that closed captioning will be enabled.
We would also like to advise audience members that this film is rated R. Should you have any questions or concerns about whether this is appropriate for you or your family to view, we encourage you to consult https://cripcamp.com/ and Common Sense Media to learn more about the film and its rating.
We hope to see you there!
