Civics Education in the Spotlight
The League of Women Voters of Vermont, in partnership with the Kellogg-Hubbard Library presents the third in its 2023-24 Lecture Series on Election Issues and Democracy. This third program, on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 at 7:00 pm features Vermont Secretary of State Sarah Copeland Hanzas and Martha Diess, Global Citizenship Specialist with the Vermont Agency of Education. They will discuss innovations in inspiring youth in democracy, state policy on civics education in our schools, and the Secretary's outreach program to encourage student engagement.
The program will be held in person at the Kellogg-Hubbard Library, 135 Main Street in Montpelier, as well as live-streamed by Onion River Community Access TV (orcamedia.net).
The League of Women Voters of Vermont Lecture Series, in its eighth season, is designed to bring outstanding speakers to discuss contemporary issues related to democracy and social justice.
