Skylark, the Shelburne-based contemporary string quartet, is thrilled to be performing at Burlington's Highlight showcase this NYE at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 6pm. Come enjoy a program filled with music, poetry and visual effects to bring our 2023 to a beautiful and thrilling close.
With classical roots and contemporary style, Skylark's catalog of chamber music showcases original folk arrangements from the Euro-Nordic and Celtic regions. Their innovative program, "Darkness & Light," features a new collection of pieces paired with works of poetry by locally and nationally renowned voices. Helen Lyons, Chard deNiord and Julie Cadwallader Staub will narrate poetry and Alex Reeves will provide visual effects. This interdisciplinary program explores the seasonal shift from darkness to light — just as one year ends and another begins.
Doors at 5:30pm, show at 6pm. Unitarian Universalist Church (top of Church Street). Entry included in the purchase of a button ($15, kids under 5 free).
