STARKSBORO, VT.—The Starksboro Village Meeting House is delighted to offer its special Christmas Candlelight service—on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at 7:00 pm. The program of lessons and carols will be led by Michael Blakeslee. Abigail Johnson is the pianist. All are welcome.
This non-denominational service has been held for nearly 60 years. Many families treasure it as a holiday tradition. The colored glass windows have been restored and the sanctuary walls repaired, and will be looking their best in many decades.
Holiday cookies and treats and hot cider will be available in the foyer at the end of the service.
The sanctuary is lit by the mirrored oil lamp chandelier, dating from 1884, and many candles.
The Meeting House is located in the center of Starksboro village on VT Route 116, just north of the Town offices, and is also the home of the Starksboro Cooperative Preschool . Parking is available to the rear in the town center parking area.
The Gothic Revival style Meeting House was built in 1838-40 and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places.
