Dear all,
Sorry for posting about this very specific event on the Forum, but we hope it will help us reach out to the Russian-speaking members living in our communities and beyond. Please help us spread the word, if you know of someone who might be interested in the information below.
There are two parents in the So./Royalton area (Meghan Taranin and I) who decided to try and start a Russian playgroup. We want our kids to have a chance to play together and practice their Russian. We have never done this before so any ideas and input are appreciated!
We have a space (so kindly provided to us by the United Methodist Church of South Royalton - the "red door church on the Green") reserved. The time is from 2:30 to 4pm, although we were thinking to have a one hour session and have time for clean up/pick up. (We need feedback on what time works better and for whom) The first Playgroup will be held this coming Sunday.
We hope to play some Russian games, read Russian books, maybe learn a Russian song. We also hope to watch some Russian cartoons together. If the weather is nice we have an option of playing on the Green. This will hopefully be once a week playgroup.
Please forward this information to anyone else who might be interested. Please email me with any ideas, suggestions, etc. or questions at ybinvt@gmail.com
Please bring your favorite Russian book/ toy/ game... We hope to watch cartoons online, but DVDs are welcome.
Thank you,
Yuliya Ballou
