Hi folks,

My name is Caro Thompson, I live in Walden, and do communications work for the Vermont Telecommunications Authority (VTA) through a federal grant program that focuses on broadband mapping and outreach.

The VTA regularly schedules its Board of Directors meetings in communities around the state. They will be convening in Craftsbury for the October 3rd meeting. There will be a short presentation on broadband expansion in general, VTA projects in the area, and a quick overview of federal expansion projects.

The VTA mission is to support broadband and cellular expansion primarily in areas that have no service. The organization does that by making grants to service providers and building infrastructure itself. The VTA is not a regulatory body so cannot be helpful in regard to specific issues anyone is having with an Internet, phone, cable or wireless provider.

The public is welcome to come and a public comment period is always on the agenda.
