Forests for the People: Return of the Town Forest Summit

Last chance to register for this fall’s Forests for the People: The Return of the Town Forest Summit. The Summit will be held on Saturday, September 27th in Barre Town. As you may recall, the Town Forest Summit and the larger Town Forest Project effort was organized by the Northern Forest Alliance, now dissolved, for several years, partners have come back together to revitalize this important initiative.

Join us for a full day of learning about the role of town forests, get inspired, share experiences and gain access to resources and tools to help your community make the most out of this community asset. This event is open everyone. We welcome those with town forests, as well as those interested in learning more about how to establish one or strengthen community engagement in existing town properties.

Where: Barre Town Middle and Elementary School with afternoon field tours of the Barre Town Forest

When: Saturday, September 27th 8:30am -4pm

Cost: $15 (Pre-Registration)- $20 (Walk-in). Pre-Registration deadline is September 19, 2014. The registration fee covers morning refreshments, lunch, and workshop materials.
