Hello!
We are continuing into the New Year at Burnham Presents with a special show featuring one of our own Lincoln residents.
We are so happy to welcome Michael Chorney's Ensemble Freeway Clyde to the Burnham Presents stage!
A Tony Award-winning composer and arranger, Michael Chorney is one of Vermont's most prolific and collaborative artists. After working for years on the score for the Broadway hit, Hadestown (winner of eight Tony Awards in 2019), he longed to develop a collective, ensemble approach to music making. He found it back in Vermont and put together a group of the region's most intuitive players and Freeway Clyde was created.
Freeway Clyde is Michael Chorney (guitar), Jeremy Fredrick (drums), Will Andrews (trumpet, samples, synthesizer), Matt LaRocca (viola), Zack DuPont (electric guitar) and Pat Ormiston (electric bass).
"Every moment is urgent and new~ A shifting landscape of styles and sounds, from orchestral indie folk to mountain music to avant-garde jazz, melding together brilliantly and beautifully." -Vermont Seven Days
"The orchestrations are simultaneously rich and spare, deftly echoing the sounds of traditional folk music while also having an indie-pop flair." -New York Times
