Join the members of the Cambridge Historical Society and Museum for an Advent window reveal and tours at 5 p.m. with a performance and talk at 6 p.m. The event will be held in the lovely 2nd Empire frame house (18569) at 12 Broad St. in Cambridge, NY. Be there when we raise the curtain for our Advent Window Reveal and distribute some sweet treats.
Then, come inside and spend the evening with us enjoying the beautiful period furnishings and holiday decorations. Hear stories of how the family might have celebrated and participate in some of their activities. We will be making some simple tree ornaments and decorating real gingerbread men for you to take home. There will even be a holiday Crankie performance of "The Night Before Christmas" and Victorian carols played by Bliss and Robbie McIntosh.
We might think that Christmas is stressful for us, but at least we don't have to struggle with what gift to give our ladie's maid or how to survive Boxing Day with a house full of guests and no cook or servants!
Activities will be held on the first floor of the Museum, which is accessible to all.
