Bow Thayer is one of the Vermont's finest songwriters and purveyors of Americana music. Call it traditional folk and delta blues, or progressive mountain music, Bow has spent the last 20 years forging a daring music path on his journey to bring backwoods music into the present. As Seven Days puts it, "Bow Thayer has been kicking up a beautiful racket in Vermont for many years now. The songs sound like they literally grew up out of the rocky soil of the Green Mountains."
The Vermont Folk Club Format includes a two-song opening by a local musician before each set, a free raffle ticket to be selected during the brief intermission for fun and local prizes, and an array of delicious refreshments, mostly baked by local volunteers. Refreshments are by donations which support the series.
