Saving Vermont Pollinators—Learn How We Can Help NOW

Pollinators are crucial to our food supply here in Vermont - to our orchards, vineyards and farms. Yet our Vermont pollinators are facing loss of their habitat from application of pesticides and to to single-crop farming and development.

To learn more about protecting our important native pollinators from pesticides, attend this upcoming event hosted by the Pollinator Pathway of Addison County (PPAC) with special guests Emily May, a pollinator conservation expert with XERCES and Paul Burns from the Vermont Public Interest Research Group (VPIRG). This free presentation takes place on Tuesday, December 5, 7:00-8:30 at the Middlebury Congregational Church's Unity Hall.

Emily May has presented two very popular webinars for PPAC and is a pollinator conservation entomologist specializing in helping farmers provide habitat for native pollinators. She will talk about the importance of reducing pesticide use in our landscapes. Paul Burns, Executive Director of VPIRG, will introduce VPIRGs initiative "Protect our Pollinators" and help us learn how we can take action in the upcoming Legislative session.
