What: Public hearing by the Calais Planning Commission to answer questions and hear comments regarding the draft of the “Calais Town Plan.”
Where: Town Hall, Gospel Hollow, East Calais
When: 7 p.m., Tuesday, October 7, 2014
You may view draft sections at http://www.calaisvermont.gov under “Town Plan Draft 2014.” If you have questions before the meeting please contact Jack Russell at 229-1908 or email. These changes impact all town citizens. We want to hear from you.
At the public hearing, our agenda is to:
• Hear your comments and answer questions on the draft sections (please review before coming),
• Show a series of town maps – districts, several that deal with natural resources, projected development growth, and others --, and
• Share “smart growth” development outlined in the plan.
The Town Plan is a five-year strategic document that outlines a long term vision for Calais. Sections are generally grouped into two areas of emphasis – land use and development (zoning) and municipal services. Each section provides an overview of the current situation, issues, goals, and action steps.
