Hello Neighbor Mamas - You are invited to the first official Meeting of the Mommies!
Our first gathering will be this Wednesday 9/17, 7- 8:30pm.
This week we'll meet at the Bakery, or now known as Reading Room @ The Bakery. For those of you who may not know, it's at 294 N Winooski Ave in Burlington. Park in lot if driving/biking & look for signs. There will be a donation pot, but please do not hesitate to join us if you're unable to financially pitch in, though there is no expected amount. I believe there will be coffee/tea available for donation. We can discuss a snack situation for future meets, but please feel free to bring whatever provisions you may need.
We will meet, get comfy, talk/share/discuss, and hopefully do some exercises- relaxation, mindfulness, etc. Please bring discussion topics & exercise ideas if you have any in mind!
FYI, I am a semi-new mom, starting this group as a project for my graduate work in counseling, and am aiming for at least 6 meetings, though excited about the potential to build a cohesive support group that may live on!
Don't be alarmed, I will not be "practicing counseling" on the group, simply hoping to gain leadership skills in group facilitation among other hard-working mamas.
If you can't make it this week, no problem. Please feel free to come when you can, though as much consistency as possible would be great, and keep an eye out for the next week's meeting location - it may or may not change...
If kiddos need be in tow, that's fine, but keep in mind this will probably be most beneficial when we can be focused, grounded, relaxed... (though, I'm sure we'll all be happy to pass your peanut around if need be).
