The Sept. meeting of the Calais/East Montpelier Historical Societies will be a walk to the Historical Old Carved Rock, located in East Montpelier near Rte 14. It is adjacent to the former Montpelier-Wells River Rail Road track. There is a parking area at the site of the former Checkerboard Feed Store (for those of you "older folks" that remember it), and across from the Central Vermont Humane Society. NOTE: start time is 5:30, due to decreasing daylight hours. Bring your own picnic supper, and a chair if you wish. The event will be guided by Manual Garcia.
