Rochester Contra Dance

Past event
Sep 18, 2014, 7 to 10 PM

This month's Rochester 3rd Thursday contra dance at Pierce Hall will be to music from our most local contra dance band ever (don't laugh): Bruises in Strange Places. Part traditional 200-year-old contra dance tunes, part Gypsy Jazz, the Bruises consist of Greg Ryan (guitar), JC Calnan (clarinet), Tom Christiano (bodhran, mandolin), and Aaron Marcus (piano, concertina, foot percussion). I can say from listening at the latest rehearsals that this will be an experience you don't want to miss. Get your hips shakin' to the wonderfully supportive teaching of Chip Hedler and have fun with us. No experience or partner needed. $5-10 sliding scale. Can't make this dance? There's just one more this season on Thursday October 16th.
