The Horace Greeley Writers' Symposium, held each year in Poultney, Vermont, is a celebration of Horace Greeley's life. The symposium explores the art of writing as presented by publishers and writers in the fields of literature, poetry, philosophy, and history.
The 12th annual Horace Greeley Writers' Symposium will be held Saturday, October 18th, 2014 from 9:30 am to 5 pm, at the historic Church on the Green located at the heart of East Poultney, VT. Registration for this event is $70, with a special student rate of $20. Registration forms can be found in brochures at local businesses, at the Poultney Public Library, and on the Foundation website at horacegreeleyfoundation.org. New this year, you can register online through our website and pay via PayPal.
This year’s featured presenters are John Manchester, Publisher of the Manchester Newspapers; Tom Smith, Poet and Professor Emeritus of Castleton State College; Joanna Tebbs Young, Columnist and co-owner of Allen House Coaching Collaborative and Writers’ Room; and Burnham Holmes, Author and teacher of Writing and Speaking at Castleton State College.
The Symposium is a dynamic day of learning and nurturing for writers of all ages, experience levels, and genres. This event draws writers and authors from across New York and New England to Poultney every year.
