My dear neighbors,

As many of you know, I recently, successfully swam across the English Channel. The tides were so strong that my course across the 21 mile expanse from Dover, UK to Cape Gris Nez, France was 41.7 miles long and took me 17 hours and 39 minutes to complete. Having grown up in the Rutland area and swimming on the Rutland Recreation Swim Team, I have been trying to raise awareness for the need for a community-oriented training facility with an indoor pool in our area. A community-wide party is being held this Sunday from 1-6pm at Main St. Park in Rutland to celebrate this amazing feat that only 1500 individuals worldwide have ever accomplished. It would be my very great pleasure to share the day with all of you! Live music by Rick Redington and the Luv and other local artists, food, and good times are expected!
