PUTT ROAD
Sunday, November 19, 1PM
The Royalton Planning Commission is making an inventory of the town's Class 4 roads to document their condition and note their special qualities.
In order to get people's input as we plan for future uses of these roads, we are holding a series of community walks. This summer we've walked almost all of our Class 4 roads: Otto Merrill, Sewall Brook, Bloss-Ballou, Peperell, Lafayette and Town Highway 21! Our final walk will be on Putt Road, which is in the southwest part of town, off Gilman Road. (Full town road map on back of poster.)
The Putt Road walk takes about an hour and a half. It is not steep or muddy, but will feature some bushwhacking. Sturdy shoes recommended. No dogs, please. Families and kids are welcome!
If you have known the road for many years, please come and share your stories. If you're new to town, come and learn about a little-known historic road - Putt Road …or just come and enjoy a walk in good company!
We'll meet at the bandstand on the South Royalton green at 1PM and figure out the ride sharing then.
