An amazing Organ Concert at the United Community Church (North Congregational Church), 1325 Main St., St. Johnsbury will be held on Sun., Nov. 19, at 4 PM by Jim Farmer who grew up in St. Johnsbury and was the organist at this church when he was in high school. After studying the organ with Helen Sleeper in St. J., Jim successively studied with Harriette Slack Richardson of Springfield, VT; Professor Milton Gill of Dartmouth College; David Pizarro of the Longy School of Music in Cambridge, MA (David later served as Organist and Master of the Choristers at the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City); John Ferris, Harvard University Organist and Choirmaster; and Christian Lane, Founder and Director of the Boston Organ Studio. Professionally, Jim has been a lawyer, serving 33 years as a Justice Department prosecutor primarily in Boston. (Many of you may remember Dr. Howard Farmer who practiced for years in St. Johnsbury; Jim is his son.) This concert is free and open to the public. Do plan to attend Jim's "musical homecoming" event! You will not be disappointed!
