COTS is still looking volunteers to call past supporters, thank them for their help, and ask them to consider a gift to COTS again this year. The COTS Phonathon runs Monday, Nov. 27 - Thursday, Nov. 30. Calling shifts are from 5:30 - 8 p.m. This is a volunteer role you can complete remotely from home, though COTS will also host an in-person caller night with snacks and festivities to kick off the event on Monday, Nov. 27.
New this year, you can help COTS by joining as a Phone-a-Friend volunteer! Phone-a-Friend volunteers pledge to email, text, call, DM, FB message, Tweet, Snap, or walkie talkie 10 friends and ask for a $10 gift of support for COTS.
The Phonathon is COTS' oldest and largest fundraising event. More than half of the nonprofit's annual budget comes from community donations.
This past year, COTS helped more than 1024 people, including 257 children, facing the crisis of homelessness in Vermont. COTS provides year-round emergency shelter for families with children and individuals; prevention and rehousing services; and affordable transitional and permanent housing. COTS also has a mobile outreach team that offers on-site support to families and individuals who are experiencing homelessness and staying in area motels.
