Book Club Discussion: 1pm in Person or 7pm on Zoom

Past event
Nov 30, 2023, 1 to 2 PM

This month I'm hosting two sessions for our book club discussion of Sandy Tolan's book The Lemon Tree: an Arab, a Jew, and the Heart of the Middle East, to accommodate more readers. For those who can make it to the library to meet in person, we'll meet at 1:00 here, and for folks who want to meet over Zoom from home, we'll meet online at 7:00 p.m. The Zoom link is: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/87831647235?pwd=LzRvK3NMVkJibmhGdXFKeWRhVi9QQT09 and can also be found on the Program Calendar page of our website: https://greensborofreelibrary.org/programs-events-2/ .

We still have copies of The Lemon Tree here at the Library for loan. The book presents the history of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the lens of an Arab man and Jewish woman who are connected by the house they each lived in. At our discussion we can share other books and information sources to help us understand the region's history after The Lemon Tree was written in the early 2000s.

I'll ask the group at our meeting about plans for December; we will not have a book selection for December, but could meet to talk about our favorite books of 2023 and plan our selections for 2024.
