LEDC SPONSORING WORKSHOP ON FINANCING OPTIONS AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR SMALL BUSINESSES
Morrisville – All businesses need financing, either to start out, grow, invest in new equipment or infrastructure or supply necessary working capital to survive the peaks and troughs of the normal business cycle. If you would like to learn about the various options available to small businesses in Vermont and how you might be able to use them for your own business, then this workshop is a “must” for you.
Areas to be covered include
● A review of the solutions and sources for business financing
● The role of the business owner and the funder
● Exploring how to analyze and consider the options
● An in-depth discussion of how to prepare financing applications.
John Mandeville, the Lamoille Economic Development Corporation Executive Director says, “Financing small business start-ups and growth is undoubtedly the most daunting challenge that any small business will face. It is also one of the least understood areas of business for most small business owners and managers. This workshop is meant to help fill that knowledge gap and to give attendees the tools to pursue appropriate financing for their businesses on a much more solid footing. Anyone looking to start a business or who is seeking financing for an existing one will gain valuable insights by attending this local training opportunity.” The Presenter is Jon Freeman, President of Northern Community Investment Corporation (NCIC) headquartered in St. Johnsbury, VT, a non profit corporation working to strengthen employment opportunities across Northern New Hampshire and Northeastern Vermont. Before joining NCIC nine years ago, Freeman was an Area Business Advisor for the Vermont Small Business Development Center and worked previously in machine design specializing in mechanisms and automation while managing growing capital equipment organizations.
The workshop will take place on September 17th from 9 am to noon in the Community Room at Green Mountain Technology and Career Center in Hyde Park. The cost to attend is $49 and pre-registration is required.
