As Professor Anderson will be presenting from Scotland, this talk will be via Zoom only. The talk will be limited to 100 attendees. To register, go to www.ethanallenhomestead.org (Please note that this talk is on Saturday instead of our normal 3rd Sunday of the month.) Given that Professor is Scottish, this promises to be a unique perspective on the Revolutionary War. Vermont's history from the 1740s to its entry as the 14th state in 1791 will be examined with a focus on how allegiances shifted between local/regional concerns vs. the national issues.
About the speaker:
Born and raised in Fife, I am a PhD student at the University of Edinburgh. I graduated with a First Class Degree in History from the University of Stirling in 2016 and a Master of Letters with Merit in Modern History from the University of St. Andrews in 2017. With support from the United Empire Loyalist Association of Canada and the Thomas Jefferson Foundation, I have been able to explore my passion for history at this level. I work as a Library Assistant in my hometown of Glenrothes and as a Teaching Assistant at the University of Edinburgh. In my spare time, I like to explore Scotland with my dog, Sully.
