The Queen City Saints are celebrating their 12th Anniversary "Flip Hunger the Bird" Turkey Drive presented by Queen City Saints & the Intervale Center to benefit Feeding Chittenden and the Intervale's Fair Share Program.
Twelve years ago, co-founders Megan Frenzen and Jerica Dizki collected turkeys from friends and family in pickup trucks at the end of their driveways to benefit those in need for the holiday season. More than a decade later, this successful turkey drive has helped feed thousands in need each holiday season.
Without the efforts of each and every Saint, families in Chittenden County would not have turkeys or holiday meals. Intervale Fair Share and Feeding Chittenden rely on Flip Hunger the Bird to source turkeys and other meats for their families each year. They have no other sources for turkeys. The Queen City Saints, through individual efforts and donations, source and purchase every turkey needed for these critical food security organizations at the busiest time of year.
Those able to participate can drop off a turkey or smaller cut with their friends and family on Sunday, November 19, or if they cannot make it, donations are welcomed via suggested $35 donation and a turkey will be purchased and donated on your behalf. All as part of our mission:
EVERY. FAMILY. FED.
If you or your family or someone you know is experiencing food insecurity this holiday season, please contact Feeding Chittenden or your local food bank for support. Or contact the Queen City Saints and we'll make sure you have a holiday meal.
The 12th Annual Flip Hunger the Bird is generously supported by American Flatbread; Hannaford Supermarkets; and Radiance Medical Aesthetics and Wellness Spa.
