The Southern Vermont Astronomy Group (SoVerA), along with the Weathersfield & Reading town libraries, will sponsor a free Star Party at Hoisington Field in Perkinsville this Saturday, November 11, shortly after sunset. If you bring a telescope you will want to get there a bit earlier to set it up.
If the weather takes a turn for the worse, a cancellation notice will be sent to all who have subscribed to the SoVerA-announce list. The constellations best seen in November are Andromeda, Cassiopeia, Cepheus, and Pisces. Deep sky objects that lie in these constellations include the Andromeda Galaxy, the Fireworks Galaxy, the grand design spiral galaxy Messier 74, the Wizard Nebula, and the Pacman Nebula. Jupiter is closer to Earth and appears about 70% larger than usual.

Take 103 North to Gassetts
Turn right onto VT-10 and continue for 4.3 miles
Turn left onto 106 North
Continue 2.4 miles on VT-106 North
Hoisington Field will be on your left.
From Springfield
Go north on 106 to North Springfield,
Turn right to stay on 106 North (headed toward Hartness Airport)
Continue 2.4 miles to Hoisington Field on your left.
From Reading/Woodstock
South on VT-106 until you cross VT-131 at Downers 4 Corners.
Continue south on VT-106 for 2.4 miles
Hoisington Field will be on your right.
From Rutland/Ludlow
South on 103 until VT-131 in Cavendish
Turn left onto VT-131 East
Continue on VT-131 East 8.9 miles to Downers 4 Corners
Turn right to go south on VT-106 for 2.4 miles
Hoisington Field will be on your right.
