Extreme Survival: Lessons from Those Who Have Triumphed

Past event
Nov 16, 2023, 1:30 to 2:30 PM

When faced with unimaginably dire circumstances, how do people find the physical stamina and mental determination to push through and survive? NY Times best-selling author Mike Tougias reveals how many have done so throughout history in a presentation based on his book, Extreme Survival: Lessons from Those Who Have Triumphed Against All Odds. The Community Senior Center hosts the on-line event on Thursday, November 16 at 1:30 PM and all are welcome.

The author's accounts of extreme survival are based on interviews with over 100 people who prevailed through intensely harrowing circumstances. He also taps into his extensive research on historical figures who achieved the near-impossible, including Shackleton, Admiral Byrd, Bligh, the crew of The Bounty, and more recently, John McCain.
