Aurora's fall concert features Franz Joseph Haydn's magnificent "Mass in Troubled Times". It's better known as the Lord Nelson Mass because Admiral Horatio Nelson scored a big naval victory over Napoleon just before it was first performed. The beginning of the mass has a tone of dread, but the overall work is a joyous journey from darkness to hope, and is considered one of Haydn's best.
Also on the program is Georg Philipp Telemann's short cantata, Laudate Jehovam, Omnes Gentes.
The concert is this Saturday, November 11th at 7:30, at the College Street Congregational Church in Burlington. Ticketing and other info is at https://aurorachambersingers.org. See you there!
