Bethany Church invites the public to listen to poetry of gratitude by Becky McMeekin on Sunday November 19 at 4:00 PM.
McMeekin has been focused on her writing since the arrival of Covid. "These past almost-four years have magnified the impermanence of life and reminded me that deep happiness and gratitude can be found in the midst of challenge, change and loss." Some of her selections will be from her most recent collection, Saeculum.
Pastor Kim McKerley understands that in these tumultuous times, feelings of gratitude may be difficult to summon. "Becky's poems will lift us up, sparking our own gratitude, giving us courage, hope, and yes, even joy so that we might do our part to help repair the brokenness in the world."
Listeners will gather in the sanctuary at Bethany Church for this informal time of listening and sharing. There is no charge for this event, but a free will offering will be accepted to support expenses related to the church's emergency housing apartment, the Loft. The church is located at 30 North Main Street in Randolph, across the street from Chandler Music Hall.
