Vermont Virtuosi, "one of the state's preeminent professional chamber music ensembles" [Barre-Montpelier Time Argus] will next perform music for flute and string quartet. Flutist and artistic director Laurel Ann Maurer of Barre will be joined by members of the Vermont Symphony Orchestra and Taconic Music in music by Wolfgang Mozart, Andrey Rubtsov, and Vermont composer David Gunn. Beginning with Rubtsov's Divertimento in E (2002), the concert continues with the world premiere of Gunn's And by and by a cloud takes all away (2022), and concludes with Mozart's String Quartet No. 19, the "Dissonance" (1785). The concert will be repeated at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 12, at Burlington's First Baptist Church (81 St. Paul Street). Admission is free; donations are welcome.
