Dorothy Canfield Fisher: Her Controversial Legacy
Ben Koenig, local book expert, will examine the life of Dorothy Canfield Fisher, much esteemed writer and activist, and the controversial 2019 removal of Fisher's name from a children's book award. How do we―in a different time―evaluate positions of well-known people during their lifetimes. Koenig will discuss this difficult and continuing issue of our time.
This presentation will take place on Wednesday, November 8, 2023, 1:30 pm, at the Montpelier Senior Activity Center, 58 Barre St. It is the continuation of the fall term of the Central Vermont Osher Life-long Learning Institute (OLLI).
