Have you ever felt isolated because of your race? Have you felt different because of the culture you were raised in? Have you experienced racism? Did you ever feel like you didn't belong? These questions and more will be addressed in the next Vermont Reads programming hosted by the Waterbury Public Library. "Racism and the Asian American Experience" is the title of Vermont Reads' next event. Korean American Denise McCarty and Mal Culbertson of the Waterbury Area Anti-Racism Coalition will share their respective experiences and field questions from the audience. Tuesday evening, November 7th at 6:30 in the SAL Room.
While the program is inspired by the Vermont Reads book "Last Night at the Telegraph Club" by Malinda Lo, you don't need to have read the book to attend.
Books are available at the front help desk. You can keep them, share them or return them as you wish.
