Short-term rentals (STRs), also known as vacation rentals, are a billion-dollar industry in Vermont and contributed over $51 million to the General Fund through Meals & Rooms Tax in 2022. Yet several municipalities are discussing shutting them down–putting a growing sector of Vermont's tourism economy at risk.
This event will bring government agencies, industry interest groups, and community leaders together to discuss the legal, practical, and community solutions needed to set clear and consistent rules for this underregulated industry.
The conference will feature 27 speakers & vendors, including:
> Heather Pelham, Commissioner of Vermont Department of Tourism & Marketing
> Kevin Chu, Executive Director of The Vermont Futures Project
> Angela Zaikowski, President of Vermont Landlords Association
> Justin Ford, Director of Short-Term Rental Safety at Breezeway
> Ted Brady, Executive Director of Vermont League of Cities & Towns
> Noah Stewart, Head of Advocacy at Expedia Group/Vrbo
> Molly Mahar, President of Ski Vermont
> Megan Bullard, Vice President of Government Affairs at Vermont Chamber of Commerce
WHO SHOULD ATTEND? This event is for short-term rental (STR) owners, vacation rental managers, industry service providers, town planners, elected officials, and other local businesses looking to connect with Vermont's vacation rental industry.
Expect to:
- Learn about new trends, changing regulations, best business practices, and emerging technologies for improving your STR operations
- Network with other vacation rental professionals and industry service providers from Vermont and across the globe
- Master the art of creating safe, unique, and memorable spaces that your guests will love and long to revisit
