Sayon Camara is an unusually gifted djembe drummer from the Sankaran region of Guinea. He will be performing with longtime collaborators Dave Kobrenski and Grant Ellerbeck. As Sayon Camara & Landaya, they will bring you to the heart of Sayon's culture through drumming, fula flute, bolon, song and story in a participatory performance of traditional music from Sayon's home village.

Sayon is staying locally with BarnArts this week as BarnArts Fall Global Music Residency artist. Sayon is bringing his culture and music to Braintree Elementary, the Ottauquechee School, Bethel & Royalton Elementary, and other area schools. The November 4th performance is a culminating celebration of his residency!
